Daffodils are peeking!!

Our next meeting will be April 7 at  7:00 pm at the Erie Station with zoom available. Our spring raffle runs through May 1 2026. As usual tickets are being mailed to regular players.  If you would like additional tickets for gifts or you know of someone who would like to participated, please email: cps12726@gmail.com or call Peggy 8454-932-8104. We thank the several new players that have joined the fun. The five raffles we hold annually are used to cover our operating expenses.  Donations are always gratefully accepted.  We do have colorful tee shirts and some Cochecton I and II Papers available.  For those who still write and mail messages, the train pictured note cards are special. Important to remember that each raffle ticket provides three chances to win each day for the entire month the Game is run.  The number plays off the NYS Evening Lotto drawing. *If you would like to know if you have won you can go to www.lotteryusa.com. Scroll down to New York State and the Evening number drawn will be listed. * Winning checks are typically written at the end of each week. If you have not participated before and would like to support our mission and be part of the game, write, email or call us to be added to our mailing list. (845) 932-8104. Note that we have added a “Donation” page to our website.  You may use PayPal or an approved credit card.

Many thanks to all who attended and supported our most recent Coffee, Tea and History Program. We have a special treat for this year’s event.  Glenn Pontier, story teller and historian will connect the “dots” with “Wood, Coal and Water three essentials that changed the river valley”.

Several of our new members live outside of the area.  Even if you cannot attend regular meetings but would like to support our efforts beyond the raffle tickets, membership is only $ 15.00 per year.  You can join from this website.  We will keep you posted about our plans for the season.

Challenge:  Mother nature deposited a very large tree across our entrance (see Galley-4).  Great thanks to Mootz Tree Trimming who showed the next day and cleaned it “like a whistle”.

FLASH:  we now have a new batch of different colored souvenir train station tee shirts.  The image remains the same but a limited quantity of shirts in gray, red or safety yellow are available.  If you would like to order one, the cost is $15.00 for s-m-lg and xl , $18.00 for 2xl.  If you request shipping, please add $8.00 for, postage.  We have also added a commemorative “Woody” tee shirt with a brief history of the bear and images on the back along with a treasured list of local business supporters.

Historically it was suggested that the Station building(barn) had been constructed in the early 1850’s. We have now been shown a postcard that shows the building in place and operating as an Erie Railroad Station date noted as 1851. And since the structure was reported as first being a barn in a different location in town closer to the Delaware River, it would seem that it must have been constructed sometime in the 1840’s. If anyone finds a picture with the barn in its original location, we would greatly like to have it.

As noted earlier, we have a limited number of Cochecton Papers I and II reprinted and are for sale for $20.00 each. If you would like one mailed, please add $7.00. We also still have some “All Aboard” CD’s and yes tapes available. CD’s are $10.00 + $7.00 shipping.  Music performed by Mickey Barnett.

e also have available for sale a photo book, “Reflections” of beautiful pictures taken by the Late Mary Ann White of scenes from the area along with her reflections noted. These books can be purchased for $10.00 each and as with the Cochecton Papers, if you would like it mailed please included $7.00 for shipping. A picture of the cover can be seen in our Gallery section of this site.
